Hello and welcome to the blog! It’s the Round-Up/ Newsletter’s one year anniversary! This time last year, I decided to begin writing at least once a month blog posts. It is my way of focusing on writing books I want to publish one day. It was renamed in January to a Newsletter.
This month I looked into Kindle Vella. It’s a subscription service that allows you to read serialized stories written for the platform. The first three chapters of each book are free. Afterwards, you need to pay for tokens to unlock more chapters. Each chapter is between 500-6,000 words.
I decided that I’m going to turn the events that happened in my homebrew DnD campaign into a story. Then I’ll upload chapters onto Kindle Vella. At this time, I’m unsure of when the first chapter will be available to read. I want to have enough content drafted ahead of time so there isn’t a large span of time of no updates.
This is what else I have been up to…
Writing Progress
Sci-Fi Series WIP– Not much progress has been made on the second book of the series. I completed one chapter this month. I always have a hard time forcing myself to write something that I have no current ideas for. Staring at a blank screen for hours in frustrating for me. As I’m sure it is for other writers.
Annar– This is the working title for my DnD campaign inspired story. It is about a group of adventurers that begin working for a fortress. They are to uncover the source of strange magic that opens portals from other realms. As they continue to follow the trail, they realize they maybe in over their heads. Will they succeed? Only time will tell.
With this story, I’m attempting to finish a serialized story. I have attempted several serialized fanfictions in the past, and never finished any of them. I’m also hoping to build a readership. So when the time comes to find a publisher for my Sci-Fi books, I may have an easier time getting published.
Only time will tell. I’m excited to see where it goes.
See you next time
