Welcome to the Blog Round-Up. This month focused on my first Camp NaNoWriMo. I finished the challenge on the 25th. It was the first time I have ever written 50k words in a month. During the challenge, I developed a schedule for myself. I would get the daily word count done within 2-4 hours. It naturally developed on its own in the second week of camp.
Developing this habit was good motivation for me to complete the 50k in a month. Somedays, I didn’t have as much motivation. Those days I would complete minimum and not think about it for the rest of the day. On the days of higher motivation, I would complete more to make up for previous days. It worked well for me and I hope to keep up the schedule I made.
Writing progress
Untitled Sci-Fi WIP– Throughout the challenge, I finished 22 chapters. The story with new rewrites and edits is looking more like the story I want it to look like. Even after this draft is completed, I know I will need to restructure some things. Though, it may not need as much work as I think. Writers tend to be our own worse enemy.
This next month, I want to get a minimum of six more chapters done for the WIP. I am at a spot where I need to outline again. It was nice to only work on one project all month but this month I do need to get some other writing done.
Watching
Thor: Love and Thunder– The fourth movie of the Thor franchise of Marvel was not the best of the films. Though being the next Marvel movie right after Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness could be why it felt lackluster. The movie was about Thor’s journey of finding his purpose again after the events of Avenger’s: Endgame. Jane Foster also makes a return and has her own personal problems. To me, the movie felt weird without Loki. I know the reason but that’s spoilers for the Loki tv series.
